Discover the latest updates for young agents! This month, we’re spotlighting leadership, sharing must-know resources, and gearing up for upcoming events.
A Note From the Chairwoman:
Hello all and welcome to 2025! We are so excited to ring in the new year with you by providing you several new options for our Young Agents! Our iLEAD Committee has been quite busy creating quality
content and events for you and we look forward to your involvement! In the coming months, you will be receiving correspondence as it relates to upcoming webinars specifically for YAs, newsletters (like this one), and field trip opportunities to places like Washington, DC, Nashville, TN, and Raleigh’s Lenovo Center (formerly PNC Arena)/Carter Finley Stadium.
For those of you who don’t know, each year the iLEAD Committee chooses a charity to support for the coming year. Due to Hurricane Helene and the devastation caused, our committee voted to support an organization dedicated to disaster relief support. You can read more about Revell With A Causehere. (The Spark Notes: this is a budding organization that aims to support relief efforts across the state of North Carolina, and we look forward to helping them make a positive impact in our state!)
We also have set a committee goal of 100% Young Agent involvement with iPAC, North Carolina's Political Action Committee. We would love your help in meeting this goal. To find out more about PAC and how you can get involved, click here.
Additionally, this year, we are looking forward to providing scholarship opportunities for advanced education! Scholarship applications will be sent out as opportunities arise.
Thank you for being a Young Agent and taking part in these wonderful opportunities. As always, let us know if there is anything we can do to help you in your professional journey!
All our best,
Merritt Tongen, iLEAD Committee Chairwoman

iPAC helps independent agents thrive by supporting candidates who champion issues critical to the independent insurance agency business model. Through iPAC, your contributions help strengthen advocacy efforts and our voice in the legislative
process. A big thank you to one of our most recent Young Agent PAC contributors:
Jennifer Nielsen, CISR, CPRIA, Triangle Risk Advisors, Inc.
Jennifer shared why she supports iPAC: "As a young agent, I support iPAC because it ensures that my voice and our industry is heard on critical issues. By working with our legislators, we can shape policies that protect our clients, strengthen our profession, and secure the longevity of our industry. Supporting PAC is an investment in our future, allowing us to focus on serving our community and allowing our industry to thrive."
